Louder drilling to occur as foundation work nears completionAs crews begin drilling 69 foundation shafts for Abutment 5 and the Second Street Bridge on the north side of the construction site, there will be noticeable noise, due to the higher elevation and the use of three large 1200 cfm (cubic feet per minute) air compressors that will be used to power the drills. Drilling in these two locations is scheduled to occur only from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, starting as soon as Wednesday, Jan. 9, and continuing for the next three or four weeks.
